ATV West Virginia Community Rules
Welcome to the ATV West Virginia community! Our goal is to create a helpful, respectful place where ATV and UTV riders can exchange information, plan trips, share experiences, and support the businesses and communities surrounding West Virginia’s trail systems.
By participating in the forum, you agree to follow these community rules.
1. Be Respectful
Treat other members with respect, even when you disagree.
Personal attacks, harassment, threats, discrimination, bullying, excessive profanity, or deliberately disruptive behavior will not be permitted. Debate the topic without attacking the person.
2. Keep Discussions Helpful and Relevant
Post topics in the most appropriate forum and use clear, descriptive titles.
Avoid repeatedly posting the same message, intentionally disrupting discussions, or taking a topic far away from its original subject. Administrators and moderators may move, edit, combine, close, or remove content to keep the forum organized.
3. Share Accurate Trail Information
Firsthand trail reports and local knowledge are encouraged, but trail conditions, permits, maps, rules, and closures can change quickly.
Clearly identify information that is based on personal experience, and provide a source when sharing official announcements. Riders should always verify important information with the official trail operator before traveling or riding.
Do not encourage riding on closed trails, restricted areas, or private property without permission.
4. Ride Safely and Responsibly
Discussion of unsafe, reckless, or illegal riding should not encourage others to repeat that behavior.
Respect trail rules, private property, local communities, other riders, and the environment. Never use the forum to organize illegal activity or trespassing.
Every rider is responsible for evaluating trail conditions, machine capabilities, personal skill level, and applicable laws before riding.
5. Business Promotion and Advertising
Local businesses are welcome members of the community, but promotional posts must be placed in the appropriate forum or approved advertising area.
Do not post repeated advertisements, unsolicited promotional replies, misleading offers, or links created primarily for spam or search-engine manipulation.
Businesses should identify their connection to a company when recommending their own products or services. Paid advertising or featured placement does not guarantee or imply endorsement by ATV West Virginia.
6. Marketplace Rules
Marketplace listings must be accurate and posted by someone authorized to sell the item.
Include a clear description, asking price, general location, and current photos when possible. Do not list stolen property, illegal items, fraudulent offers, or anything you do not have the right to sell.
ATV West Virginia does not inspect listings, process payments, guarantee transactions, or resolve disputes between buyers and sellers. Members are responsible for verifying ownership, condition, payment, and all transaction details before completing a sale.
7. Protect Personal Information
Do not publish another person’s private information without permission. This includes home addresses, private telephone numbers, email addresses, financial information, private messages, and identifying information about minors.
Use caution when arranging rides, meetings, purchases, or sales with people you have met online.
8. Photos, Videos, Maps, and Other Content
Only post content that you created, have permission to share, or are legally allowed to use.
Do not upload copyrighted maps, photographs, videos, articles, or other protected material without authorization. When sharing content from another source, provide appropriate credit and link to the original source when possible.
Respect the privacy of riders, property owners, businesses, and bystanders shown in photographs or videos.
9. No Spam, Scams, or Malicious Content
Spam, fraudulent offers, phishing attempts, malicious links, impersonation, fake accounts, and automated promotional content are prohibited.
Accounts created primarily to advertise, manipulate discussions, collect member information, or direct traffic to unrelated websites may be removed.
10. Follow Moderator Instructions
Administrators and moderators may edit, move, close, hide, or remove posts that violate these rules or interfere with the operation of the community.
Depending on the situation, members may receive a reminder, warning, temporary restriction, suspension, or permanent ban. Serious violations may result in immediate removal without a prior warning.
If you disagree with a moderation decision, contact the administration privately rather than arguing about it within the public forum.
